Polyimide Binder for Li-ion Battery

When silicon-based materials are used as the active material for lithium-ion battery anodes, it is well known that they undergo significant expansion and contraction during charge and discharge cycles. This mechanical stress can drastically shorten battery cycle life, posing a major challenge for long-term performance. To solve this issue, UBE is developing polyimide binders designed to enhance battery durability and contribute to longer cycle life.
