Adiprene® Green, a new renewable solution for PU elastomers
UBE Urethane Systems have developed a new range of MDI polyether prepolymers containing renewable raw materials. Adiprene® Green products are suitable as replacement for existing fossil based polyether prepolymers to manufacture highly durable polyurethane (PU) elastomers.
Adiprene® Green was developed to create a range of renewable raw material-based prepolymers which allow the PU processor to produce components with a reduced CO2 footprint.
- The share of renewable raw materials varies between 30 to 90 % dependening on the targeted system hardness.
- Up to 30% CO2 reduction compared to fossil-based prepolymers due to the use of polyether polyols based on starch (depending on the system).
- Up to 27% energy savings
- Existing PU processing capabilities remain applicable
- The properties of the final polyurethane elastomer are similar to established elastomers based on fossil based polyether or even better.

Product portfolio
The Adiprene® Green product line includes MDI Ether based prepolymers with a wide range of hardnesses that can be processed as 2K or 3K. The line allows to reach broad hardness range while maintaining excellent properties.
