UBE Launches Fifth U-BE-INFINITY® Brand Product
2026/03/18 News ReleaseUBE Corporation (President: Yuki Nishida; Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter, "UBE") announced today that it has newly certified two recycled nylon materials, recently developed from discarded fishing nets, for its environmental product brand U-BE-INFINITY®.
There are two certified items, both newly developed recycled nylon materials made from discarded fishing nets. One was developed by UBE, and the other by UBE Chemicals (Asia) Public Company Limited (President: Anusara Suthikulavet; hereinafter, "UCHA"), a member of the UBE Group.
About newly certified items
Recycled Nylon Made from Discarded Fishing Nets
These newly developed, sustainable recycled nylon materials are made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) nylon 6 derived from discarded fishing nets. Leveraging UBE's long-established nylon technology, the materials combine reduced environmental impact with reliable and consistent performance.
UCHA, which has its manufacturing facility located in Rayong Province, Thailand, collects discarded fishing nets from the region and recycles them into high value-added nylon materials, contributing to the development of a circular economy. By building an end-to-end value chain that connects raw material collection through to final product manufacturing, UCHA is expanding new applications for recycled nylon. The materials have already been adopted for apparel products in a collaboration with the Thai fashion brand PIPATCHARA.
UBE has also developed glass fiber-reinforced recycled nylon that delivers physical properties equivalent to conventional virgin glass fiber-reinforced nylon while offering significant potential for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. UBE is currently evaluating the material mainly for industrial applications, including automotive components and electrical and electronic parts. The company also plans to expand its use across a wide range of fields, including construction materials, furniture, household goods, and fashion, by tailoring the material to the specific requirements of each application.
These newly developed materials aim to contribute to carbon neutrality throughout their entire lifecycle.
The UBE Group is focusing its efforts on three of today's major environmental challenges: climate change (carbon neutrality), circular economy, and nature positivity. The Group is promoting the development and practical application of environmentally friendly products and technologies. By providing these solutions to more customers, the Group aims to contribute to solving global environmental issues and fulfill its 2030 vision: "A specialty chemicals company that contributes to the global environment, human health, and an enriched future society."
