In April 2025, UBE and the Universitat Jaume I renewed the collaboration agreement for the UBE-UJI Chair of Sustainable Plastics. In December, the Chair presented the fourth UBE Plastics Sustainability Awards to two students from the universities of Valencia and Seville, recognizing their research on the chemical recycling of fishing-net waste using deep eutectic solvents and on sustainable biopolymer matrices for agricultural soil regeneration. Throughout the year, the Chair organized several lectures on plastic-recycling technologies and coordinated a beach-cleaning initiative held on 27 September in Castellón.
